Establecimientos Argentinos de Bovril Ltda. Formed in 1909 in Buenos
Aires. The company itself was involved in the manufacture of
"Bovril" which was created by the Scot John Lawson Johnston,
originally as Johnston's Fluid Beef as a food provision for Napoleon
III in his war against Prussia in 1870. First made in Sherwood, Quebec
in 1874, then moving to Montreal in 1880 and then in 1886 to London
where the Bovril Company was formed in 1899. Requiring lots of beef
cattle the company became based in the Argentine where a fleet was
established for the river shipment of live cattle and refrigerated
produce. I am not sure of the position prior to WW2 but afterwards
Lloyds show the ships being owned by the Argentine Estates of Bovril
Ltd. in London. At some stage it would seem that they were taken over
by Uniliver who currently still use the brand.

The book La Marina Mercante Argentina (1961) shows a blue flag with a white diamond bearing a red cross paty within a black orle, whilst in
each corner of the flag is a white panel bearing the respective
letters "EABL" in black outline [see image]. In the originating image the panels are smaller around half the size shown in my image where I have increased the size in order to display the letter format.
