Description of arms (German):	Im blauen Schild eine goldene Meerjungfer, die in den Armen einen roten Schild hält, in dem eine mit einem roten Flügel belgte silberne Spitze erscheint, die von zwei silbernen Flügeln begleitet ist. [1] [2]
Blazoning of arms (English):	Azure, a mermaid Or holding in her arms an escutcheon: Argent, chapé Gules, three wings (2,1) counterchanged.
Adoption date of arms:	30 April 1958, again 1973

Description of flag:	three stripes, red-yellow-blue, with coat-of-arms [1]; actually used: red-yellow-blue (1:1:1) without arms [3] [4], and red-yellow-blue (2:1:2) with arms [5] [6] [7]; blue-yellow erroneously reported [2]
