‘Freunde Historischer Schiffe’ or Friends of Historic Ships is an Austrian
non-profit organization dedicated to preserving interesting old vessels of
various kinds and, in a larger sense, maintaining Austrian maritime traditions.
Its contact address is at Hollabrunn, Lower Autstria.
Website (German
only): http://www.fhs-austria.com
Besides being a forum for enthusiasts directly interested in operating and
equipping ships, and providing excursions and other friendly get-togethers, FHS
membership is open to individuals, public bodies (the City of Vienna, for
example) and companies e.g. tourist shipping enterprises.
A photo taken from the site shows a long
and narrow pennant in the Austrian national colours, horizontally RWR, coming
together in the point. Near the hoist is placed a black logo combining an
upright anchor and initials ‘FHS’. (We see the pennant’s reverse.)
A logo
page shows the logo plus two drawings of short pennants, the first (coloured) of
which may be visible (thus real) on one or several photos on the site (but if
so, I missed it):
