St Florian, born near Vienna in the 3rd Century and martyred under Diocletian, is the patron saint of firemen, chimneysweepers, brewers,
blacksmiths, coopers, stovemakers, and soapboilers.
An astonishing number of images featuring this flag-bearing saint may be found on the internet thanks to Google image search. I've tried to
link directly to the images.
Observe the various flags and how in a number of cases these are alike to the ones attributed to St George or even Christ. However,
often St. Florian is shown holding not a flag but a lance or a shield, besides his
bucket.
