The symbols of Posušje are prescribed by Decision Odluka o grbu i zastavi općine Posušje, adopted on 14 August 1995 by the Municipal Council and published in the Municipal official gazette Službeni glasnik Općine Posušje.
The symbols were designed by the late Bruno Bago, an academic painter born in Posušje.
The flag (photo) is prescribed in Article 9 of the Municipal Statutes as follows:
The flag of Posušje is composed of three colours: red, white and blue, the edges between them being of oval shape. In the centre of the flag is the outline of the church in Posušje coloured white. The silhouette of the church emerges from the white field and ends in the red field. The top left corner of the flag is composed of a modified Croatian coat of arms. The red and white fields of this coat of arms are of different sizes and are increasing from the top left corner towards lower right corner.
The ratio of the width to length of the flag is 1:2.

The coat of arms is prescribed in Article 9 of the Municipal Statutes as follows:
The coat of arms of the municipality is in a shield shape. In the centre of the coat of arms is the outline of the church in Posušje, supported by oak leaves with acorns. At the top of the coat of arms is the Croatian triple wattle. In the lower part of the coat of arms is the name of the place "Posušje" and the year "1378".
The base of the shield as viewed from left to right is the Croatian tricolour. The outline of the coat of arms, the wattle, the background of the inscription and of the year and the oak leaves with acorns are golden-yellow.

The municipality also uses a white vertical flag with the coat of arms in the centre (photo, no longer online). This flag, not mentioned in the legislation, must be an ornamental item, meant to display the coat of arms which is not present in the prescribed flag.
