The symbols of Ilidža are prescribed by Decision Odluka o grbu i zastavi, uslovima i načinu uporabe grba i zastave Općine Ilidža (text), adopted on 19 December 2000 by the Municipal Assembly and published in the Canton official gazette Službeni novine Kantona Sarajevo, No. 7.
The flag is white with the coat of arms in the middle. Both horizontal and vertical versions are prescribed in 1:2 proportions. While the Decision do not prescribe inscriptions, the flags in use include the name of the municipality, apparently, in several variations (photo).

The coat of arms depicts a part of the Roman mosaic from the 3rd century found in Ilidža, showing Amor riding a sea lion. These figures are described in the Decision as black and orange, although the actual drawing shows them is more "earthen" colors. In the base is shown a black five-arched bridge, which is a representation of the so-called Roman briadge, still standing today, crossing river Bosna in Ilidža.
