The flag of Taciba is yellow, quartered by a Cross of the Order of Christ (a red cross patty filled white). In the middle of the flag is placed a white lozenge charged with the municipal coat of arms.
The cross highlights the historical evolution of the place, eventually linked to the Christian symbolism. The coat of arms represents the municipal government while the lozenge represents the town as the municipality's seat. The cross' arms represent the municipal power spreading over the whole municipal territory. The quarters represent the rural estates located in the municipality. Red is a symbol of faith, courage, intrepidity and valiance. White is a symbol of peace, labour, friendship, religious feeling and purity.

The coat of arms of Taciba is "A Samnitic shield surmounted by a six- towered mural crown argent. Or an ant gules ensigned by a cross patty of the same voided argent in base a fess wavy azure. The shield supported [...] Beneath the shield a scroll gules inscribed with the municipality's name surrounded by the years '1935' and '1954' in letters sable".
The Samnitic shield, the first style of shield introduced from France to Portugal, evokes the Latin colonizers and main builders of the Brazilian nation. The mural crown is a symbol of municipal emancipation, representing a third-rank town, seat of a municipality. Or is a symbol of glory, wealth and splendour. The fess wavy represents river Formiga watering the municipality. Azure is a symbol of justice, nobleness, loyalty, zeal and perseverance. The red ant, a stylization from the wild species, makes the arms canting since Taciba means in Tupi "a big ant". The place was known for long as Formiga (Portuguese, "an ant"), being renamed Taciba by Decree Law No. 14,334 of 30 November 1944. The cross patty is a symbol of the Christian spirit of people, recalling the cross erected around 1924 by Francisco Calixto. The cross patty was also used by the Portuguese seamen on the sails of their ships, and by the pioneers during the conquest of the hinterland. Gules is a symbol of faith, audacity, intrepidity,, courage and valiance. Argent is a symbol of religious feeling, purity, friendship, peace and work. The dates stand for the establishment of the district and of the municipality, respectively.
