I'm pretty sure McDonald's Canada uses a small Red Maple leaf on the bottom of the middle arch, as it does on the arches on the signs.

Also, I think the Red on the Canadian version of the flag is a little darker, what I would call "Ketchup Red" and the American one I would say is just plain "Red".

It’s interesting to note from Dean McGee’s report on that page that in the US, a country with dark red on its national flag, the McDonalds franchise corporate flag is bright red, while in Canada, a country with bright red on its national flag, the McDonalds franchise corporate flag is dark red.

I wonder if this flag's red is supposed to be the same as the red used in the US, but perhaps influenced by the tradition of the Union Jack - which has unintentionally had different reds at times? I also wonder if we are the only ones noticing a different shades of red - because it is what we do? Could this just be a manufacturer's variant? Perhaps McDonalds has a different Canadian manufacturer making the flags in Canada and the corporation headquarters doesn't even notice the difference in the red, or care? I wonder how may flags their purchasing department has made each year and where? Some might be made in China, for example, or simply by the lowest bidder, and we've all seen what this can result in.
