According to this information at the Riverview History Project (http://addendum.riverviewhistoryproject.ca/images/rpl_archives/Local_Politics/RIVERVIEW-TOWN-CREST.pdf),
the seal on the flag was designed in 1973 by Town Administrator George E.
Hamilton. Riverview was incorporated in 1973 by the amalgamation of the
villages of Bridgedale, Gunningsville, and Riverview Heights and part of the
parish of Coverdale. The bull moose supporters represent the king of New
Brunswick wildlife, denoting vigilance and perseverance against adversity.
The four maple leaves on the shield represent the villages that make up the
town.
