The flag is a banner of the Arms, blazoned, "Argent on a fess Vert a barrulet Or".
The green stripe indicates the geological features known as the Greenstone Belt, and it also resembles the geographical shape of the Municipality. The gold stripe on it recalls the gold found within the landscape, the foundation of the area’s early economy. The white indicates the snow that covers the region for much of the year.
