I saw this flag twice during the Spring of 2005. Once in St. George NB, and once in Miramichi NB. I would be curious to know whether the flag is used in other parts of the country and whether there exists a French version. The Canadian government website shows the logo with the inscription "Année de l'ancien combattant" next to "Year of the Veteran".
The flag is a Canadian pale of yellow, black and red, with a thin red line
between the yellow and black and a thin yellow line between the black and red.
The central square shows the poppy and maple leaf logo, with 2005 below and
YEAR OF THE VETERAN above in a semi-circular disposition, though the letters
are straight, not inclined. All letters and numbers are white with yellow
outline.
