I must stress that this source is a poor indicator of the actual proportions of the municipal flags. Some flags are just annexed to the Coat of Arms in a square proportion. Two of these flags were presented previously in a 1:2 proportion. Many of these flags could be such. I think it will be wise to place a note that indicates that the true proportions of these flags could be 1:2 also.

"La Bandera del municipio de Belalcázar fue adoptada mediante Acuerdo número 100 del 25 de noviembre de 1995.
Consta de dos franjas horizontales de igual anchura dándole forma rectangular al pabellón. La franja superior es de color amarillo, y se entiende como símbolo de nobleza, riqueza, poder y constancia. La parte inferior o segunda franja es de color verde, y significa la esperanza, representando además la fertilidad de las tierras belalcazaritas.
En el centro de la bandera, cobijando pliegues amarillos y verde, se destaca una estrella blanca de cinco puntas, que significa el hombre.
La bandera fue ideada por el presbítero Antonio José Valencia Murillo en 1950."
