"La Bandera - Conformada por tres franjas horizontales iguales. En la parte superior de color morado; en el medio de color blanco, y en la parte inferior de color verde.
Significado:
La franja superior de color morado, representa el color de la flor de la papa, producto agrícola que por muchos años fue lo más representativo del municipio. Ahora, desde la fundación de la cooperativa ovina, la lana se ha convertido en el símbolo de la riqueza municipal.
La franja central de la bandera de Marulanda, es de color blanco, símbolo de la paz, la pureza, y para muchos de la neblina común de esta tierra fría.
La parte inferior o tercera franja, es de color verde, y significa dentro de este símbolo, la rica vegetación que cubre todo el territorio."
