Verde: Simboliza la gran riqueza natural que poseemos y la diversidad de prouctos que se cultivan en nuestro municipio.
Blanco: Representa la paz y tranquilidad que los linareños anhelamos, la cual esperamos alcanzar con la unión y el empuje de todos los ciudadanos.
Azul: Significa la armonía y la alegría de nuestras gentes, la fe en Dios y la hidrografía que recorre el territorio de Linares.

The flag, designed by Wilson Diaz P., is horizontally divided green-white-blue.
Green symbolizes the natural resources and the diversity of crops in the municipality.
White represents peace and tranquility aspired to by the citizens of Linares, who hope to reach them by the union and empowerment of all.
Blue means the harmony and joy of the citizens, the faith into God and the hydrography of the municipal territory.

Coat of Arms (in Spanish):
En la parte central del Escudo se encuentra un triángulo de color verde con filo de plata sibolizando el Cerro de Linares en toda su magnificencia natural; mostrando su vigor, su dominio y grandez. En su parte central se incluye de manera simplificada la palma de iraca, producto insigne del municipio; su forma ha sido teñida de colo plata para indicar su docilidad, su maleabilidad a la que es sometida por el trabajo e ingenio del artesano linareño. Con ello también queda implícita la riqueza agrícola de sus diferentes productos.
