Overview

I am presenting below updates on the parties - several of them have disappeared. I would suggest to present first the parties still active or with historical significance. Updated information on the parties and their current status is available at the Electoral Supreme Court website. Most flags presented on this page are based on information retrieved from the Electoral Supreme Court website. However, the website shows the emblems and not the flags.

The colours of the flag caused a dispute between PAH and PAC (Partido Acción Ciudadana), which complained in 2005 at the Electoral Supreme Court for the use "its own" red and yellow colours by PAH.. By Resolution No. 942, the Court stated that the two parties would be allowed to use the same colours, but with different shades, lighter for PAC and brighter for PAH.
