Nürtingen Coat of Arms

In a golden (= yellow) shield is a red horn with a black cord and silver (= white) fittings. It is placed between a black antler on the chief and a blue lozenge on the base.
Meaning:
Nürtingen was founded by the Counts of Württemberg around 1299, and became a city in 1330. The oldest known seal dates from the same time, existence proven since 1346, and displays a horn, most likely derived from the crest (not the arms) of the Counts of Württemberg, known since 1329. The lozenge below the horn according to Sibmacher (1605) originally had been a jewel hanging below the horn. Around 1632 the antler, taken from the arms of Württemberg, was added. At the same time two savages as supporters were added, but they are no longer officially used. Otherwise the arms have not changed since. The current pattern is known since 1535 and remained more or less the same till today.
