Obertshausen City Banner

It is a red-white-red vertical 3-stripes banner with ratio approx. 1:4:1. The coat of arms is shifted to the top within the white stripe.

Obertshausen City Arms

The shield is parted per fess dancetty into Gules over Argent. Above is a crowned lion passant Or with his feet on the points of the base. Beneath is an oak branch Vert with one acorn.
Meaning:
The arms show in the upper half the arms of the Counts of Schönborn, the base is representing the old municipality of Hausen.

Hausen Banner

It is a red-white-red vertical 3-stripes banner with ratio approx. 3:7:3. The coat of arms is shifted to the top within the white stripe.

Hausen Arms

The shield is parted per fess. Above in field Or is an oak branch Vert with three acorns. Beneath in a red field is a handbag Argent.
Meaning:
The branch is symbolizung that Hausen belonged to the Imperial Forest of Dreieich. The handbag is representing the local production of leather goods. Red and gold had been the livery colours of the Lords, later Counts, of Hanau, who pawned the village from 1371 until 1425. Red, gold and silver are those of the Counts of Schönborn, local rulers since 1664.

It is a vertical 9-stripes banner with alternating red and white stripes. The coat of arms is shifted to the top.

Obertshausen Borough Arms

The shield is Gules with base Argent, issuant from base is an embattled castle Argent, in chief are three points Argent.
Meaning:
The previous arms were approved in 1952 by Minister of Interior of Hesse. They show in the lower part the local castle, built by the Archbishops of Mainz in the 12th century. The colours of the arms are also taken from the silver and red of the Archbishopric of Mainz. In 1664 the Archbishops sold the town to the Counts of Schönborn, who used arms with the points, a modification of the Franconian rake (Franconia had been their territory of origin), with a lion on top of the points.
