Clauen Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
Shield Gules, a lion rampant Or, armed and tongued Azure, holding an elongated Greek cross Argent by his forepaws.
Meaning:
The lion probably is alluding to the Welfen kin. The whole ensemble is based on the weather vane of the local church, which had been on top of the roof until 1906. The arms were designed by Alfred Brecht.

Equord Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
Shield Azure, a church Argent in baroque style, flanked in chief by two inescutcheons, at dexter Argent three labarums Gules ordered 2:1, at sinister Or an heraldic rose Gules, seeded Or and barbed Vert.
Meaning:
The church is local St. Markus Church, called by the local people "little St. Peter's Basilica", the size is 1/16 of the original in Rome. The inescutcheons display the family arms of the Von-Hammerstein kin (dexter) and the Von-Saldern kin (sinister).
