Angeln Region (Landschaft Angeln)

The flag of Landschaft Angeln (Angeln region) in Schleswig-Holstein (Germany) appears in their website, including an image of an actual flag. Angeln is a peninsula between the Flensburg Firth and the Schlei Firth with in the north Flensburg and in the south Schleswig, that's the northeastern part of the county. It is supposed to be the home country of the Angles tribe, [which with the Saxons invaded England and] from which [the term] Anglosaxon is derived. (...) The region's coat-of-arms can be seen in this webpage. The shield is divided into 9 parts, which stand for 8 old divisions (Harden) of Angeln - left to right: Husbyharde, Munkbrarupharde, Nieharde, (Neueharde not included), area between Kappeln and Brodersby, Kappeln-Harde, Struxdorfharde, Satrupharde, Mohrkirchharde, Füsingharde.

The arms of the Anglia Region (Landschaft Angeln) first had been presented by reverend H.N.A. Jensen in 1847. Dr. Elke Strang (State Archive of Schleswig-Holstein) stresses that there never had been an official approval of a coat of arms of the Anglia Region.
The arms, although not being an official symbol, are very popular since then and are often presented upon a plain Schleswig-Holstein tricolour. These arms are an example of complex quartering but they don't match completely the heraldic rules.
The central quarter on the middle fess point shows the lions of the former duchy of Schleswig, also representing all parts of Angeln not belonging to one of the original subdistricts. The other quarters have been taken from the seals of the subdistricts (Harden). These subdistricts had among others a military function, some translate them as Wehrbezirke, used as a base of recruiting the locals as soldiers. This sounds to me like an equivalent to British yeomanry recruitment.
The subdistricts are:
1) Husbyharde (dexter chiefpoint): a silver (= white) house in a red field
2) Munkbrarupharde (middle chiefpoint): a red grid iron in a silver (= white) field
3) Nieharde (sinister chiefpoint): silver (= white) lying moon crescent and 8-point star in a blue field
4) Schliesharde (dexter fesspoint) : silver (= white) herring between two silver (= white) barrulets wavy in a blue field
5) Struxdorfharde (sinister fesspoint): a green oak tree in a silver (= white) field
6) Satrupharde (dexter basepoint): a blue scythe in a golden (= yellow) field
7) Mohrkirchharde (middle basepoint): a blue St.Anthony's cross in a silver (= white) field
8) Füsingharde (sinister basepoint): crossed keys in counterchanged colours in a field divided per pale into red and silver (= white).
The arms of the Uggelharde (around Tarp) are not part of the arms of Angeln.
