Following the link found by Joe Mc Millan - The Mystic Seaport Foundation, we can reach the 1911 Lloyd's flagbook, whose full title is (after the scan of the cover): 'Lloyd's book of house flags and funnels of the principal steamship lines of the world and the house flags of various lines of sailing vessels', published at Lloyd's Royal Exchange. London. E.C.
On p. 134, we have: #2055. Mentz, Decker and Co., Hamburg. The flag is horizontally divided in nine red and white stripes, the red stripes being twice higher than the white ones, with a white square diamond in the middle, charged with black letters M.D. & Co.

The company was formed in 1896 and operated sailing vessels until around 1910 when they became shipbrokers and as such they have continued to the present day. Lloyd 1904 and 1912 show a red and white banded flag in line with that shown here but the company website shows a flag image which has the bands equal, the diamond a lot larger and the small "o" as vertical dash with top and bottom ends angled per bend sinister.

Mentz, Decker & Co. - According to my source this variant had stripes a equal width not in my image) and the diamond in the centre had no black edges and undotted letters.
