According to the English Wikipedia, Telefónica, S.A. is the second largest corporation in Spain (behind Grupo Santander) and the fourth largest broadband and telecommunications provider in the world (after China Mobile, Vodafone and SingTel), with operations in most of the Americas, British Isles, and Eastern Europe (plus affiliates in Italy and China). It was created in 1924, as the Compañía Telefónica Nacional de España (CTNE) and was until the liberalization of the telecom market in 1997 the only telephone operator in Spain.

As of early 2009, it was announced that Telefónica would stop trading as such — planned to do business only as Movistar, and O2 abroad in Europe and Vivo in Brasil. This doesn't seem to be the case as of yet, as the historical brand still has high visibility to this day.

Description

Its logo has been traditionally (as I remember, since the 1980s) a "T" shaped to suggest both a classic telephone set "☎" and a button push dial, being made from rows of dots, the upper with four (or more), and the others of only two:

I don't know whether there was ever a flag with any of the successive versions of this logo, nor when it was first used, nor when it was discarded for the current; images of the last version of it can be seen here.

Recently (around 2007?) a new logo was adopted, a simple lettering of golden greenish underscored idiosyncratic serifed cursives on dark blue background (the "ó"’s accent mark suggested only by the "f"’s lachrymal and its handwritten-like top gap) — with attested use in flag format. Measurements of flags and logo-lettering suggest that the overall ratio is 3:5.
