The municipality of Navahondilla (325 inhabitants in 2010; 2,207 ha) is located in the southeast of Ávila Province, on the border with the Community of Madrid, 50 km of Ávila.

The flag and arms of Navahondilla are prescribed by a Decree adopted on 3 August 2000 by the Municipal Council, signed on 17 August 2000 by the Mayor, and published on 25 September 2000 in the official gazette of Castilla y León, No. 186, p. 11,823 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:
Flag: Quadrangular flag, green, white and yellow in vertical stripes. In the middle of the flag is placed the municipal coat of arms of Navahondilla.
Coat of arms: Per pale, 1. Gules a castle or a tree argent, 2. Azure a tower or a cow argent. The shield surmounted with a Royal crown.
The Royal Academy of History turned down the proposed arms since they include "a charge sable on a field azure and a charge vert on a field gules", and could, therefore, consider the flag's design only when the coat of arms is amended ( Boletín de la Real Academia de la Historia 199, 3: 450, 2002). I understand that the rejected charges were the tree (vert) and the cow (sable), which seem to have been made argent.
