I'm trying to find the significance of the colors of the city of Sabadell. I've found the coat of arms of the city in the Town Hall website. The text is in Catalan (I didn't found a link to the text in English or Spanish). I'll try to translate it:

"Heraldic coat of arms of the city approved by the Town Hall Council of Sabadell in June, 29th, 1992. It is a two horizontal banded and truncated coat of arms. In the upper side on an argent silver there is a rooted out onion; in the down side, four gules stripes [on a golden field]. As a crest of the coat of arms there is a mural crown."

The significance of the coat of arms is: A tradition says that the name of the city of Sabadell comes from the word "onion" in Catalan: "ceba," which in Catalan sounds like "Saba," the two initial syllables of Sabadell. It seems that the name of Sabadell have really another origin, but centuries ago (maybe in the XV century) the symbol of the onion was adopted by the people of Sabadell. Because of this, the upper side of the coat of arms of Sabadell have an onion inside, on a silver field. The lower side is just the traditional coat of arms of Catalonia.

The colors of the flag of Sabadell (white, green and yellow) could represent the silver of the upper field, the green onion and the golden crown, but it is only my supposition.
