Lodoso (75 inhabitants in 2006; 945 ha; unofficial website) was recognized as a submunicipal entity by Decree No. 38, adopted on 22 April 2010 by the Government of Castilla y León and published on 28 April 2010 in the official gazette of Castilla y León, No. 138, p. 47,866 (text).
Lodoso means "muddy", a probable reference to the numerous sources located on the village's territory. The Lodoso Council was first mentioned in 1136.

The flag and arms of Lodoso are prescribed by a Decree adopted on 13 February 2012 by the Village Council, signed on 5 July 2012 by the Mayor, and published on 19 July 2012 in the official gazette of Castilla y León, No. 99, pp. 7,098-7,099 (text).
The symbols, which were validated on 17 May 2012 by the Chronicler of Arms of Castilla y León, are described as follows:

Flag: Rectangular flag, in proportions 2:3, crossed by a red diagonal stripe of height 3/8 of the flag's height, running down from the upper hoist to the lower fly corner. The upper triangle green, the lower triangle white. The red stripe charged with the municipal coat of arms, in height 50% of the flag's height.
Coat of arms: Per fess, 1. Vert an hospital or masoned sable port and windows azure, 2a. Gules a St. Christopher with Baby Jesus argent with a nimbus and orb and a cross or crossing waves azure and argent, 2b. Argent an oak vert. The shield surmounted with a Royal Spanish crown.

St. Christopher is the patron saint of the village.
