The municipality of Torregalindo (143 inhabitants in 2010; 1,536 ha; municipal website) is located 90 km of Burgos.
Torregalindo was often mentioned in medieval documents as Torre (tower). Galindo is a typical Navarrian name, which may indicate that the place was resettled in the early 11th century, when Castile was under the wardship of King of Navarre Sancho III. Built in the 11th century, the castle, today ruined, was rebuilt in the 14th century and revamped in the 15th century.

The flag and arms of Torregalindo are prescribed by a Decree adopted
on 10 September 1998 by the Burgos Provincial Government, signed on 28
September 1998 by the President of the Government and published on 9
October 1998 in the official gazette of Castilla y León, No. 195 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:
Flag: Quadrangular flag, with proportions 1:1, made of two equal vertical stripes, green at hoist and yellow at fly. In the middle is placed the municipal coat of arms.
Coat of arms: Per pale, 1. Or a tower [torre] gules masoned sable port and windows azure, 2. Vert a sword argent, grafted in base waves argent and azure. The shield surmounted with a Royal Spanish crown.
The Royal Academy of History validated the proposed arms, "whose charges and design follow the traditional style of good coat of arms". The Academy also validated the flag, with proportions 2:3 (Boletín de la Real Academia de la Historia, 2000, 197, 2: 365).
