The coat of arms of Villahermosa is prescribed by an Order issued on 9 March 1993 by the Government of Castilla-La Mancha and published on 17 March 1993 in the official gazette of Castilla-La Mancha, No. 20, p. 1,377 (text).
The coat of arms is described as follows:

Flag: Traditional shield. Gules three scallops or. The shield surmounted by a Spanish Royal crown.

Villahermosa, formerly known as Pozuelo, was granted the status of villa on 22 September 1444 by Infante Henry of Aragón, Master of the Order of Saint James, separating from Montiel, and a coat of arms featuring three scallops, a symbolic antonomasia of the Order of Saint James. The arms were, therefore, used long before their official registration ("immemorial use").
