The village of Château-Bourdin (c. 200 inhabitants), part of the municipality of Saint-Pardoux-en-Gâtine, is located about 3 km from Saint-Pardoux main center, between Allonne and La Boissière-en-Gâtine.

Members of the village association have asked the Société Vexillologique de l'Ouest and the Société Historique du Poitou to propose flag and arms for the village. Seven proposals were drafted.
The selected flag is blue with a black Celtic triskelion placed in a white disc and a vertical white stripe placed along the hoist and charged with three black scallops. The flag was designed by Claude-André Fougeyrollas and Thierry Gilabert, who also designed the village coat of arms, on which is based the flag.
The flag of Châteu-Bourdin will be displayed in the village church.

The triskelion refers to the Irish patron saint of the village, St. Fiacre, and emphasizes the Celtic character of the region.
The three scallops refer to the foundation of the village of Château-Bourdin. In the 11th century, the lords of Parthenay, coming back from St. James' pilgrimage, decided to establish a pilgrim hospital and granted three privileges to people who would settle in the new village.
The coat of arms of Château-Bourdin will be sculpted on the tympan of the village church.
