The Conservative Party of Georgia brings together the similarly named Conservatives and the Union of National Forces (a party of staunch Zviadists created in 2000), making them the newest-but-one party in Georgia (they had their first congress barely a year ago). They played a central role in the Rose Revolution; indeed, Kakha Kukava (one of their most prominent MPs) proudly calls them a "revolutionary party".

They are a socially conservative party who identify with Christian Democrats and are oriented to "national traditions" - indicative of this, 19th century reformer Ilia Chavchavadze looks out knowingly from the top of their website. They want an established church ("but full religious freedom" assures Kukava); direct election of judges and regional governors, but no federalism; and yet more protection for the Georgian language. The Conservatives quickly teamed up with their revolutionary comrades in the Republican Party (who left the government in summer 2004), forming the Democratic Front faction in parliament with non-partisan majoritarian MP David Zurabishvili (now godfather to one of Davitashvili's younger children) as its chair.

The flag of the party, as shown on the party website (page no longer online), is prescribed in the party chart as follows:
3. Symbols of the Party
3.1. The flag of the party is white with the purple red cross and the gryphon in the middle with two horizontal lines;
3.2. The emblem of the party represents a shield divided in 4 with the images of St. George, the Golden Fleece, a Griffin and Michael Archangel. The shield has a royal crown on top and a subscription in the lower part: "Ena, Mamuli, Sartsmunoeba" (Language, Homeland, Religion. These words belong to the famous Georgian writer Ilia Chavchavadze).
3.3. The anthem of the Party is Chemo Kargo Qvekanav (My sweet country) by Ilia Chavchavadze. Music belongs to Revaz Lagizde.
3.4. Images of the party flag and emblem are confirmed by the National Committee on the basis of this charter.
A photography taken during a demonstration shows a different rendition of the griffin, with two wings instead of one, and the name of the party below the emblem but above the lower line.
