The flag of Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry is a white flag with the blue and white color symbol mark excluding the ministry name characters in the center.
The left blue part represents industry, and the right blue part represents trade. Both of these are combined to form a kind of comma-shaped design, which represent improvement and growth while rotating in a spiral manner.
　Two blue triangles located at the center are a pair and represent stability and equilibrium and express the state that the growing and dynamically rotating industry and the trade are well balanced.
　They represent wide and deep dynamic space on the left and right by its perspective representation, the left and right expansions are quantitative increase, and the condensed depth is qualitative enhancement
　Both side blue parts are organically connected by the central part. This connection shows the correlation between industry and trade　which symbolizes important points for the Japanese economy to hold.
　"Earth" is symbolized by white part at the center, and the white part contains living standards and natural environment.
　The white parts permeate between blue parts, they are linked to the outside world, namely the natural world, although the penetration part is fine which means that industries and trade make natural order a part of constitution respectively which must be secured clearly and finely.
　The whole shape summarized in a regular hexagon symbolizes harmony. Since the activities of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry are part of a unified administration of the government, the relationship with other ministries and agencies becomes important.
Each side of the hexagon is considered so that such mutual relationship can be set.
