Flag

Located in Meguro City Tokyo and established in 1929. The institute flag has white background with a gold-colored emblem in the center and the institute name in gold Chinese characters written vertically. According to the "60th Anniversary History of Tokyo Institute of Technology" published in November 1940, the flag was adopted on May 25, 1933, and its creator was Mr. Kunzo Minami, a professor at Tokyo Bijutsu Gakko and a lecturer at the university. The university emblem of kanji letters “大學” is embroidered with gold thread and surrounded by a Gothic pattern. The white background is based on the tradition of the Tokyo Higher Technical School, the predecessor of the university, and the Gothic pattern around it represents "learning from the past".

Hardball tennis club; The club flag has sky blue background with a white symbol mark and horizontally written Kanji university and club name in white. The symbol mark was designed by Shinji Hori, a professor at the Tokyo Fine Arts School, and consists of the Chinese character "工" for "Engineering" and the Chinese character "大" for"University" in the shape of swallow. The Chinese character "工" represents a window, which also symbolizes the meaning of a school. The "swallow" has also long been celebrated as a "bird of good fortune. The symbol mark was created in 1948, and was adopted as the design for the staff badge at that time, and has been widely used as the symbol mark since then. In 1981, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the university's founding, it was officially adopted as the university's symbol mark. In establishing the design, we asked Mr. Ario Teshima, the grandson of Mr. Seiichi Teshima and an assistant professor at Tokyo University of the Arts at the time, to cooperate in creating the design.
