The sun rising from the blue sea symbolizes passion and hope, and the three seagulls head for the future when three thousand hundred citizens will live in harmony in an ideal garden city of Geoje. The rock in the middle represents magnificent natural scenery of Haekeumgang and, at the same time, embodies the strong will and perseverance of the citizen. Calm waves in the flag is symbolic of the sea surrounding the city, and the serene and peaceful community.
