Flag - green-white-green with coat of arms in the centre. Ratio 1:2. Authors - Daiga Egle (idea), Ilze Libiete, Juris Ivanovs (artists).
The green color symbolizes a very green area with lots of woods and meadows, the white color - truth and justice.
Coat of arms is registered by Ministry of Culture 27 Jan 2011: "Azure, a Priekule's Icarus Or winged Argent and accompanied in the Chief with 6 five-pointed Stars of the Third".
Legend sais: in XVII c. blacksmith Zviedris Johansons made the wings from a fabric on a pine frame and jumped from the top of a church. He flied about 2 km. But later he was burned as a heretic...
