Decision No. 391, 30 September 2015

Green is the heraldic color of destiny, hope, nature, freshness, hunting and youth.
The embattling symbolizes the state border and alludes to the border fortresses of medieval Moldova.
The eagle is a reference to the Roman ancestors, as one of their main emblems, featured on the banners carried by legions. Gold is the same as during the Antiquity. The eagle has a cross in the beak, being the Romanian eagle, recalling the spirituality individualized over the centuries from the Roman eagle.
The axe, an old battle weapon used in heraldry to threatened the enemy, warns those who would try to cross the border illegally. The key recalls that the border of Moldova can be closed or opened by the will of the Border Police, depending on the intentions of those who would like to cross it.
The eagle bears on the chest the coat of arms of the Republic of Moldova, connecting the state and one of its instruments.
