The flag and arms of the National Center for Personal Data Protection,
approved by Order No. 39 issued on 24 December 2009 by the Director of the
Center, were registered on the Armorial General of the Republic of Moldova by
Decision No. 399 issued on 30 September 2015 by the Heraldry National Commission
and published on 14 April 2017 in the official gazette, No. 119-126, Article
793.
The flag is composed of a rectangular (2:3) cloth, blue, charged in
the center with a white griffin holding in the right claw a yellow disc with a
round hole and with the left claw supporting a slanted shield featuring the
lesser coat of arms of the Republic of Moldova (horizontally divided red-blue
superimposed with an auroch's head surrounded by an eight-pointed star between
the horns, by a rose dexter and a contourned crescent sinister, all in yellow).
The flag is a banner of the Council's arms. .

The griffin, a mythological creature half eagle and half lion,
symbolizes authority, vigilance, sharpness and power, which protects gold or
treasure. Private life, which is a fundamental right of the person, is valued as
a treasure, which belongs to every citizen. The griffin represented on the coat
of arms of the Center symbolizes the protector of the privacy of the citizens.
The disk in the right claw symbolizes personal data that are being protected.
The shield with the state coat of arms of the Republic of Moldova, on which the
griffin rests with its left claw means that the Center is a public authority.
