Flag of LMT - Image by Ivan Sache, 24 June 2017

The Martinique Taekwondo League (Ligue Martinique Taekwondo - LMT; website) groups four clubs: École de Taekwondo Madinina (Fort-de-France), Taekwondo Club Saint Ann (Sainte-Anne), Cercle Martiniquais de Taekwondo (Schoelcher), and Taekwondo Martinique (Le Lamentin).

The LMT uses a flag (photo, photo, photo) quartered black-red-green-blue by a yellow saltire whose arms increase in width from the center of the flag to its corners.
David Mangatal, President of the LMT, explains that the World Taekwondo Federation asked in 2011 the newly affiliated League to adopt a distinctive emblem, different form the French Tricolore. The flag was selected after a consultation on Facebook that yielded 10,000 answers.
Approved by the "sports movement" and the Regional Council of the time, the flag has been pushed from time to time as a potential flag of Martinique, with little success.

The colours of the flag associate those of the independentist (red, green and black) and French (blue and red) flags, so that the flag is "truly representative of the Martinique people".
Moreover, these colours are associated with the values conveyed by martial arts. Black, symbolizing lore and knowledge, is placed on top, In martial arts, the black belt is the symbol of the beginning of knowledge. The other colours also refer to belts.
The yellow stripes start from the central point of the flag, representing Martinique, seen as the open crossing of different continents The yellow stripes radiating around the four colours are a symbol of open-mindedness.
Nothing is said on the similarity with the Jamaican flag.
