This coat of arms is divided into three parts, to the left side represented by a map of the Mexican Republic of which it explains the distinct descendants from
diverse states which have emigrated to the municipality, being the hand, force, and power of the economic-cultural development.
In the upper-right quadrant, we have the economic environment like cattle-raising, with great rooting since many years ago, in the same way agriculture which today is the
most resonant push of the municipality and regional sustenance.
In the upper part are the routes of communication, with the highway crossing having four lanes which unite with one alternate route; in the same way in the
center of the coat of arms the rail routes divide it, which in their moment were a very important part of the development of the textile and cotton industry of the
Fábrica de los Ángeles, of the Hacienda Molino Codorachi, among others. It has in the central part a cogwheel which signifies the great movement and push
which the municipality has had.
Marked in a festoon in the upper part of the coat of arms is the name of our municipality, and at its rests two clusters of grape, a
crop of international recognition for the quality in which it is produced in the municipality.
In the lower half of the coat of arms, the
historic area is represented, where the San Miguel River is configured as a fundamental part of the conformation of the community, where its
waters were taken advantage of for the settling of the population; the cap is in honor of Don Juan Bautista de Anza, colonel and captain who
parted from the municipality in his second expedition to found the port of San Francisco in California.
The arch represents the factory of yarns and textiles installed in the Fábrica de los Ángeles, being one of the most modern and unique ones in the
West in the era. The facade of the very ancient church of San Miguel de Horcasitas dedicated to Saint Michael the Archangel, patron saint who was brought from Spain,
has its regional festivities at the end of September.
In the lower part we have a festoon with the year of 1749, which marks the date of foundation of the royal presidio of
Horcasitas, cradle of the muncipality.
