Bolsward city.
Bolsward/Boalsert is one of the eleven cities of Fryslân; since
the municipal reorganization it contains parts of surrounding municipalities.
The city folks speak a mixture of Dutch and Frisian ('Stadsfries'), which
applies equally to Leeuwarden, Dokkum, Sneek and Harlingen.
Flag: "Three stripes of black and yellow, 1 : 3 : 1, with at the hoist
side on the yellow a black double eagle, armed red, bearing a heart-shield
of blue, charged with a white bent sinister (Westergo) over which a yellow
Emperal crown, lined red."
Boalsert's flag was adopted 6 May 1955 and contains the double eagle,
to which all Hanseatic cities were entitled. The heartshield is the Coat of Arms
of the old division of Westergo, of which
Boalsert was the center. That central position is reflected by the imperial
crown within the Coat of Arms of Westergo. Source: Sierksma, Nederlands Vlaggenboek,

Bolsward banner
Bolsward: simple municipal flag in bannerform. Purchased by the municipal
council. Producer unknown.
(The municipal flag according to the design of Bontekoe is so expensive
to produce, that the mayor decided to use the simple pattern of yellow
and black. The "real" municipal flag is given by the municipal council
to firms and private persons on the occasion of jubilees, etcetera)
<I suppose that the "simple" flag is "Three stripes of black and
yellow, 1 : 3 : 1", as is written above.>
