Lambertschaag is a village in the municipality of Medemblik (till 1 Jan 2007 Noorder-Koggenland, in Noord-Holland province. Until 1978 it was partly in the old municipality of Abbekerk, partly in Hoogwoud.

Flagdescription: two egually wide horizontal stripes of yellow and blue, with in flagcenter a white oval of 3/5 flagheight and 4/5 flaglenth; the oval tapered at fly and hoist and charged with a horizontally wriggling black eel.

Explanation: In the old municipal hall of Spanbroek is a "Wapenlijst" (armorial frame) of the dividion of Opmeer of the Dutch Society of Agriculrure", made by Jacob Sturm, dated 'January 1853'. There are arms of the village in de vicinity of Opmeer and Medemblik. For Lambertschaag, which was never a separate municipality, the arms is: a chief or, a base azure and in the shield an eel noir. On the bridge towards the "Green Church" (Groene Kerkje) is an oval motif with an eel, surrounded by the motto "Wapen van Lambertschaag". The eel is thus really a villagesymbol.
In the flag the shield is translated in two stripes yellow-blue. As a memo to the motif near the "Groene Kerkje" a neutrally colored white oval has been taken charged with the eel.
The flag has been adopted on 1 September 2008, together with the one of Abbekerk by the Foundation Historical Abbekerk and Lambertschaag. The flag was designed by Hans van Heijningen, together with Frits van der Starre, member of said Foundation. Source: communication by Hans van Heijningen.
