Międzychód county
Międzychód County (Polish: powiat Międzychodzki) is a unit of territorial
administration and local government (powiat) in Greater Poland (Wielkopolskie)
Voivodeship, west-central Poland. It was created on 1 January 1999 as a
result of the Local Government Reorganization Act of 1998. Its administrative
seat and largest town is Międzychód, which lies 74 kilometres (46 mi) west
of the regional capital Poznań. The only other town in the county is Sieraków,
lying 16 km (10 mi) east of Międzychód.
The county covers an area of 736.66 square kilometres (284.4 sq mi).
As of 2006 its total population is 36,329, out of which the population
of Międzychód is 10,920, that of Sieraków is 5,994, and the rural population
is 19,415.
Międzychód county flag
Międzychod County flag - is a rectangular cloth consisting of two vertical
strips of equal width. In the red hoist are a silver half eagle with golden
beak and bow; and below in silver a red defensive wall with three towers
between the four gold stars. The fly is divided into four equal width
horizontal stripes alternating yellow, white. red, and yellow. New flag
adopted on August 29, 2013.

The CoA of Międzychod County shows on on a splitting shield, above in red a
silver half eagle with golden beak and bow; and below in silver a red
defensive wall with three towers between the four gold stars. New CoA
adopted on March 7, 2013.
Former emblems
The county adopted on 20 December 2007 flags and a Coat of Arms. Author of the
new symbols is Michał Marciniak-Kołźuchowski.
