Gmina Przygodzice is a rural gmina (commune) in Ostrów Wielkopolski
County, Greater Poland Voivodship, in west-central Poland. Its seat is
the village of Przygodzice, which lies approximately 44 kilometres (27
mi) west of Ostrów Wielkopolski and 92 km (57 mi) south of the regional
capital Poznań.
Area: 163.48 sq.km (63.1 sq.mi); Population: 11,320 (2006).
First mentioned in 1403.
Arms and flag adopted on December 12, 2002 (resolution # II/10/02).
"Arms: shield divided vertically into two parts, on the right, gold
field black head of żubr - (European bison - wisent - Bison
bonasus) with a golden ring in the nostrils. On the left, blue
field three black hunter's horns.
Head of the wisent comes from the noble Coat of Arms "Wieniawa" belonging
to the previous owners of the area: Gołuchowski and Leszczyński families.
The hunter's horns represent the noble Coat of Arms "Trąby" ("horns")
of the Radziwiłł family.
Flag: rectangular piece of cloth in the ratio 5:8 composed of three
equal horizontal bands of yellow-white-light blue with the Arms placed
in the middle of the flag."
