Overview

This city of 12,658 inhabitants was founded in 1771 or 1772. The flag of our town was approved by the Municipal Assembly on September 28, 1973. The central white stripe stands for the urban zone. The nine surrounding stars [there are 11 on the image of the Lexjuris site!!!] represent the nine [rural] boroughs of the municipality. The red and orange colors symbolize the vigour and vitality of the town. The yellow represents Christianity. The green is vegetation and hope for progress of the municipality. Finally, the white represents purity and unity between the boroughs and the urban zone.

Rinco'n is near Punta Higu¨ero in the west coast.
Santiago Dotor, 12 January 1999

The flag at pueblos-de-puertorico.com (defunct), differs from the one sent by Thanh-Tâm Le: The top right bar is yellow instead of red and there are nine stars surrounding one big star, as there should be according to Thanh-Tâm Le following lexjuris site . Rincón is in northwest Puerto Rico; it was founded 27 July 1771.
Jarig Bakker, 4 Febuary 2000

The upper stripe of Rincón is orange, although it looks like red (this flag should have nine stars and not eleven, as noted by Mr. Le. The flag of Moca, which is almost identical, is the one with eleven stars).
