Yabucoa - The flag has an abstract design inspired in the city
shield with its symbolic colors. The flag is quartered in asps:
1st and 4th violet, and 2nd and 3rd white, respectively embraced
in green, with the alteration that these latter triangles instead
of being equal to the two thirds parts of the quarters latitude
in which they are inscribed, are equal to the fifth part of the
flag horizontal dimension.

Here is what I understood from Santiago's interpretation of
the Yabucoa flag. I do not know which one is right. Usually,
textes seem to be more reliable than images on this Lexjuris
site, but in this very case the description is "a bit"
confusing. Besides, the image in the top of the page probably
looks better than this.

Yabucoa has the Holy Angels Guards as patron saint. The shield
has two angels and represent the immense multitude of them. The
color purple of the field represents the highest dignity of the
angels. The canes are attributes of the travellers, and allude to
the role of the Angels Guards as guides and companions of the
man. Each canes have a "guajana" flowers, representing
the wealth of the sugar cane. The green land symbolizes the
fertile valley in which Yabucoa is.
