Alfândega da Fé was one of the six communes of Alfândega da Fé Municipality not affected by the 2013 changes; it had 1937 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 40.62 km². In its territory lays the namesake settlement, seat of the municipality and of the commune  they being synonymous, the scroll adds the disambiguation term, as usual.
