Shield Purple, a leopardized lion rampant Or charged with a fess vaired of Argent and Gules ,in chief a "slip knot of love" Or. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "ALTO DO SEIXALINHO".
Meaning:
The lion is alluding to Dona Francisca de Azambuja, head of the convent of Verderena, which was in the commune. The lion also reminds on her connections with Spain. The fess is taken from her personal arms.

It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a field quartered of red and white.

Coat of arms

Shield Argent,a sailing ship Gules held by four stanchions of the same, in base a bar wavy Azure charged with a barrulet wavy Argent, in dexter chief a saltire potent Azure, in sinister chief a sword cross Gules (fleury, in base fitchy). Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "SANTO ANDRÉ - BARREIRO".
Meaning:
The saltire is an attribute of St. Andrew, name giver and local patron saint of the commune. The sword cross is referring to commandary of the Order of Santiago of Alhos Vedros. The bar wavy is representing river Coina. The ship is representing the naval dockyard during the years of discovery and the riches of timber, which had been rafted down the river Coina.
