Shield Gules two chocolate pots Sable in fess with their handles pointing outwards, in chief a orb Or and in base a basket Or. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "VILAR DE NANTES".
Meaning:
The orb is an attribute of Jesus Christ, being the local patron saint as the Divine Saviour.

Vilar de Nantes was one of the 30 communes of Chaves Municipality not affected by the 2013 changes ; it had 1898 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 7,28 km².
