It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain green field.

Coat of arms

Shield Or divided by a bar wavy sinister bendy Azure charged with a barrulet wavy sinister bendy Argent, in dexter chief an apple tree eradicated Vert fruited Argent, in sinister base a plough Gules. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "REGUENGO GRANDE".
Meaning:
The bend sinister wavy is symbolizing Galvão river and his water making the local soils fertile. The apple tree is alluding to the local production of famous apples. The plough is symbolizing agriculture as the main activity of the commune today and in the past.
