Shield Or three pine trees Vert fruited Sable ordered 2:1, on central chief point a heraldic rose Gules seeded Argent and barbed Vert. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "CARIA – MOIMENTA DA BEIRA".

Caria is one of the 13 communes of Moimenta da Beira Municipality not affected by the 2013 changes; it had 406 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 15,82 km². It had been seat of a municipality between 1801 and 1855. To that council belonged the communes of Arcozelos, Carregal, Lamosa, Aldeia de Nacomba, Penso and Segões.
