It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a field quartered of red and white.

Coat of arms

Shield Gules with an embattled bordure Argent, a dog passant Or with drop ears, accompanied by a crescent waxing Argent in dexter chief, in base a bridge Argent masoned Sable also superimposing the bordure. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "UNIÃO DAS FREGUESIAS DE CASTRO LABOREIRO E LAMAS DE MOURO".
Meaning:
The dog and the bordure are representing former Castro Laboriero commune. The crescent and the bridge are representing former Lamas de Mouro commune. It is remarkable that the dog here and in the arms of former Castro Laboreiro is displayed without a collar, usually meaning a tamed animal.

Flag and arms were approved on 17 July 2014 by Comissão de Heráldica da Associação dos Arqueólogos Portugueses (CHAAP) and adopted by the local assembly on 28 September 2014.

Shield Vert, two crescents vaning Or ordered per fess between a throughout bridge Argent masoned Sable in base and a Paschal Lamb passant Argent nimbed Or ion chief. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "LAMAS DE MOURO"
Meaning:
The Paschal Lamb is an attribute of St. John the Baptist, the local patron saint.
