Shield Azure with base wavy of Argent and Azure, a dove Argent nimbed Or within an aureole Or, in chief two olive branches Argent fruited Or ordered per fess. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "ESPÍRITO SANTO - MÉRTOLA".
Meaning:
The nimbed dove is representing the Holy Spirit, the local patron saint.
