As usual, elements from the coats of arms of the constituent communes were used to create the the coat of arms of the new, amalgamated commune. The rendering of the mallet looks much better now.

Former Cambeses do Rio Commune (until 2013)

Flag

This commune didn´t have its symbols fully approved yet when it was disestablished. We can presume it was a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centered on a currently unknown background.

Coat of Arms

Shield Gules a shepherd´s staff Argent in pale and overall six rye ears Or in pale ordered per bend sinister, in sinister chief a millstone Argent, base wavy of four of Argent and Azure. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black serifed letters "CAMBESES do RIO".
Meaning:
The word "cambeses" is trivially the plural of "cambês", though this word doesn´t seem to have meaning; it is however similar to "cambado", meaning "bowlegged" or even "lame", so the staff on these arms, if meant to be (also) a crutch, could be partly canting. In turn, the phrase "do rio" means literally "of the river"  which makes the wavy base on these arms also partly canting.

Coat of Arms

[Mourilhe commune CoA (until 2013)] image by António Martins-Tuválkin and Sérgio Horta, 17 June 2024

Shield Or, per pale a crescent Azure and a scallop Gules, the latter flanked by two pairs of rye ears Vert with their stem tips crossed per saltire. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "MOURILHE".
Meaning:
These elements were chosen to mean respectively: Scallop: Saint James the Elder, rye: Local agriculture, crescent: Role in the Reconquest era. Concerning the latter, I suspect it is also a canting (or punning) element as the word "mourilhe", albeit not lexicological, is (or at least appears to be) an unstandard hypochoristic of "mouro", meaning "Moor".
